Duration: One Year (Oct. 2011 to Oct. 2012)

Project Title: Development of CI based Evolvable Games for Training Purposes
Project Description: This is a one year project funded by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan. The total funding of the project is Rs. 537,000. The objectives of the project are:
1. Experimentation for mapping complex real-world scenarios to gaming environment. We would focus on creating games for training of personnel, which can be a challenging and time consuming task. The conversion of training procedures into games would make them interesting and improve the efficiency of learning. The mapping would involve identification of states and rules governing the transition between states.
2. The developed game should have the capacity to evolve with time, thus retaining its usefulness and interest. This evolution can be in the form of increased complexity of the gaming environment as well as in the weeding out of less useful factors in favor of newly discovered factors present in the environment.
3. The developed game should have the capacity to evolve strategies while playing with human beings (as well as artificial players). These strategies can be then put at the disposal of the human managers so that they can analyze and maybe utilize them in decision making.
